Indelible Mark

It has been a month and a half since we cast our votes and I still have my indelible ink on. Stubborn ink! But before it totally wears off and since today is also the inauguration of the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines, I want to divulge the people I voted for last election. This gives me a sense of accountability for the choices I made.

President
Richard Gordon

Vice President
Bayani Fernando

Senators
Pia Cayetano
Susan Ople
Sonia Roco
Adel Tamano
Neric Acosta
Martin Bautista
Risa Hontiveros
Jasmin Lao

I am a little disappointed with the result for senators. I thought that Filipinos wanted change but is still choosing the same old familiar names. As for our new president, I am really not a fan of him but I wish him well. For all our sakes, I wish him well.

This morning, the new president showed a number of things to be admired: his being on time, stopping on red lights, and the things he said on his speech. I just wish that he and the people who will help him in government will be able to live up to it for the entire 6 years of their term.

For the complete text of the inaugural speech, let me direct you to The Four-Eyed Journal.

    Thanks for the trackback.

I agree that the disappointing segment of the election results is that the Senate’s composition has changed very little.

Most of the senatorial candidates I voted for didn’t make it.

  2. Change is a difficult thing indeed, especially when people who vote are not well educated. Thus, they would choose base on popularity and looks alone.

    • Ronnie says:

that is the saddest part… with majority of the population classified as poor and is probably not getting a good education, how can we expect critical voters?

btw, God bless on your marathon this Sunday. be safe. james and i might meet afterwards kung may pagkakataon.
