I guess it can be assumed that the holiday season is the biggest mall season of the year. More people equals more transactions, meaning more sales. I happen to purchase from different malls and I cannot help but notice the difference.
SM Malls:
For an item that costs 599.75 pesos, pay 1000 and you’ll get a change of 400 pesos.
I lost 0.25 cents. I shouldered their inability to give out the correct change.
Robinson’s Mall:
For items that totals 187.11 pesos, pay 207 and you’ll get a change of 20 pesos.
They lost 0.11 cents. They shouldered their inability to give out the correct change.
I wonder why the hell does SM Malls tag their items with a 0.75 fraction when they do not even have the capability to give a 0.25-cent change.
I think consumers should start answering the question,
“Sir, okay lang po kulang ng 0.25 cents change nyo?”
with another question that goes like,
“Okay lang ba na kulang ng 0.25 cents ang bayad ko syo?”
And that my friends, is the big difference.
