C25K Training Week 1 Report

I have just finished week 1 of The Couch-to-5K Running Plan. Below is the summary of my training:

Wk# Day 01 Day 02 Day 03
Wk01 alternate 1min walking and 1.5min jogging for 20mins alternate 1min walking and 1.5min jogging for 20mins alternate 1min walking and 1.5min jogging for 20mins

My performance was deteriorating as I was progressing through each training day. Day 1 is probably the most satisfactory run I did as I managed to follow the run-walk sequence. On Day 2, I had to walk throughout the sixth repetition as the pain on my right foot became a little unbearable. On Day 3, I had to stop on the third run as I fear injuring myself severely if I try to push myself to run despite the pain.

I am beginning to suspect that my shoe has something to do with this foot pain but buying a new one will have to wait. I’ll have to sit and research on this first. I wish that some leg or foot exercise will do the trick.

Sadly, I don’t think I will be graduating to Week 2 just yet. I will have to stick with another Week 1 training. Failing to follow a structured plan can be a little disappointing but I am not quitting out on this one. Send me some motivation on Daily Mile or by leaving a comment here.

wow, that seems serious. did you have your running gait checked and have the appropriate footwear? in my case, all three days were smooth and good.

i was thinking im just doing something wrong or probably not yet that fit to run. if after sometime and the pain still occur i will probably have that gait analysis.

      you run in the BDM?
